Overjoyed

Here are some steps in my process above!
It's not the way I usually go about my work but here it is for this painting.  I will say one thing with bright colored flowers I like to lay the block in on a white ground. That keeps the colors clean especially yellows which get dull and lifeless very quickly!  Anyhow I've been busy just with my job as a mom of 2 little ones so that why I haven't posted lately!  Try do do more soon and please ask questions if you feel so enclined!
Thanks for visiting.  Have a great day!

Starship Enterprise ~ Tall bearded iris

So here is another in the series of Tall bearded irises.  The breeder in 1999 actually named this special iris "Starship Enterprise".  Amazing colors!  Hope you enjoy.
P.S.
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.

Promise

SOLD
Painted this "blushing bride" tall bearded iris in a larger scale than I normally paint!
Looks even more dramatic.  Love irises!
Hope you have a super time playing at your easel today!

Daisies in glass milk jug

Bought this vintage glass milk jug yesterday and the daisies!  I love the happy feeling in this painting.  Daisies are simple yet bold.  Hope you had a great weekend.  Happy painting this week!

Fresh Cut

SOLD

Some days you just have to paint something simple and fun!  It's a classic flower that is to me less structured then say a Pansy, or Iris, but, non the less still full of soul.
I hope you enjoy these!

Peaceful Moments 20" x 20" oil on thick canvas

Painted another in the series of Tulips!  This is a larger piece, more what I always painted before I became addicted to the "Daily" painting.  I forgot how much more challenging this larger format was.
I really enjoyed being able make big loose brush stokes again.
Hope you enjoy!

Harmony

SOLD
Here are a few steps to show how I lay out the tulip painting!  Start by covering the canvas in transparents colors.  Then add white to shape where the tulips are. Then I just keep adding detail.  And then I added the background of Payne's grey to darken the background and pop the tulips out!
Hope this helps a little.  I have got to figure out video so I can add video to my blogs!! If only there was two of me.:)
Hope you had a great weekend.

P.S.
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.

Playful Pansies

Just love painting pansies!  I felt like these looked very playful, all the different colors and even the way they are in various directions in the jar.  Happy Monday friends!  Hope this is a good week painting and playing at your easel!

Blooming Bells

I am not sure what these are?  They look like blue bells... I hope they are.  They were in with a bouquet I bought from TJ's , and I really liked them a lot so I painted just the stem.  Plus I love how the green vase picks up light!  Oh, how I love flowers.  Hope you enjoy this snippet
Of Gods creation.
