You are never too old...

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream another dream."  C.S. Lewis

I am glad I tried painting sandpiper.  Sometimes us painters get in rut and we don't know what to paint.  Who knows why it happens.  I feel taking on something new; whether its in the subject of what we paint or medium, or whatever, that can help get us out of the rut.
So I'm glad I tried something new and I hope you try it to and are pleasantly surprised!

Lady & Lilies

No matter what kind of day I may be having or how distracted I may get with the busyness of daily life I am always stopped in my tracks when I see the hummingbirds flying by the kitchen window.   I was reading about these birds the other day and here was an interesting fact the hummingbird takes 150 breaths per minute while resting!  I'm glad I don't have to take that many breaths per minute while painting it would make it difficult I think I'd take up abstract art.
Well I hope everyone finds some rest this weekend and can take a big breath of fresh air!
Happy Painting!

Oranges in Antique Bowl

Today I painted these oranges from a tree in my back yard.  A friend gave me this antique bowl, I really like it.  I hope to paint something great tomorrow. Stay tuned, and happy painting!

Oranges & Asian Bowl

I have been wondering about what to paint these days.  I remembered what a teacher friend of mine said, "paint whats around you".  And so today I went outside and cut these oranges from the tree in my backyard.  I live in Arizona and have citrus trees in my backyard.  Looks like I'll be busy because my roses are blooming now too!

Stay inspired and happy painting!

Tulips

It is funny starting a new year sometimes seems both exciting and scary all at once.  There is always an overload of work and it just seems that it would be nice to just take it easy.  But, that would be boring so we all keep busy!
I love painting flowers no matter how many I paint or how often, I never get tired of them.
Tulips are one of my very favorite flowers to paint.  So in this painting I filled full of them and tried to capture the feeling of excitement I have when I see them!
