Sweet Rose II

Sweet Rose II • 6" x 6"
Another in the very new " Sweet rose" series.  I've always wanted to try a white or rather light background, and I really like how it looks.
It's amazing how much of painting is decision making.  If I painted the background black or dark this rose would look like a classic old painting but I decided to turn in a different direction and go with a light background which in turn created a more Contemporary feel.
It just shows you got to just go with your gut.  Take a chance in your painting today see what happens.  You might love it.

Rejuvenation

So spring has sprung and Easter is right around the corner!  I decided to paint this
Larger piece based on one of my little sketches I have on the auction.  I really enjoy the shade of grayish blue in the background.  Have a great Palm Sunday'

Wisdom

I sometime can't believe what a joy it is to be able to paint!  As most of you know I chase after two little ones; a 3 and 7 year old.  So painting is my mental health break, I find it much more enjoyable than shopping or  running two hobbies that it seems are very popular in Scottsdale.
From my constant learning of the craft of painting I have found Wisdom in the old saying "Haste makes Waste".  It helps me slow down and smell the roses or daisies.
Hope you have success today!

Blown Away

I picked these roses from the garden. It was so windy out.. Beautiful!  I love having roses in bloom.
And here is the painting I made from them.  I was rather enjoyable.

P.S. True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.
