Delicate Sunshine

 

Here is a painting that was nothing but pure fun to paint!   These Poppies are so delicate and just so remind me of the sunshine.  I love the frilly texture of their petals, its like crushed silk.

Time of Peace

I hope this coming  year is a time of  peace.  There are seasons for everything, and with Christmas ending

There are certain things that always seem beautiful, and maybe its the complexity of them and the simplicity combined.  Simple on the outside, (easier the capture in paint)  more complex in the inside.  And of course beautiful rich colors.  Hope you enjoy the feeling and beauty in these simple pomegranates.

So I decided to paint another white tulips painting.  I just love white tulips.

I feel the simplicity works wonders, I think in art I can get carried away so quickly by all the choices, in color.   Color is one that is powerful when it is under control. 

 

Well, all that being said I love color.

In this painting I was inspired by th white tulips I bought from Safeway.

I love white flowers, and I love Tulips!  So it was a delight painting this.

Sunflowers on Blue II

I went to Trader Joe's and picked up these beautiful Sunflowers to paint a couple days ago.  It seems like sunflowers have a power and drama that get me painting anytime.  Well, this little painting makes me happy!

With Christmas right around the corner I think about the excitement around mailing and receiving cards and letters from friends, and family.  I call this one "anticipation", because it is with that in mind that I created this little painting.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Day 3 of Daily Painting.  It's not like I even think of it as Daily painting.  That to me would be like making a fuss over daily eating lunch.  I know it may seem strange but not painting in a day might
seem like missing lunch or dinner.

Christmas Poinsettia

Not only are Poinsettias beautiful, they have a interesting history.  During the 14th - 16th century the sap was used to control fevers and the leaves were used to make red dye.  I personally think they make excellent decoration during the winter and Christmas season. 

I like the bright warm red highlights and the mood this painting has.  I feel it is important to capture a mood in every painting I make big or small.
