Decided to take on the "orchid challenge", something I made up... there isn't really an orchid challenge.
Anyhow, I was given this beautiful orchid for Mothers Day and I look at it and I kept telling myself to paint it and now that I have, I am full of ideas on how I want to capture it in a painting. I am playing with the abstract in the background, to offset the structured Orchid. I really quite enjoy this process and will most likely try it out with my other favorite flowers.
